My Background

I grew up in Florida where my venture into horticulture began early with lawn maintenance as my first paying job.  I moved to Tallahassee in 1979 and worked at a nursery and garden center while pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Geography from Florida State University.  A desire to blend my love of nature with landscape design led me to the University of Georgia where I received a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture with an emphasis on ecological design and management.  Since then, I have worked with a variety of public and private organizations on landscape conservation projects at the regional, community, neighborhood and backyard levels.  As a naturalist, conservationist and landscape designer my goal is to create appealing gardens that bring nature closer to people.
